LIFE-U-SPRINGBOARD

About the project

LIFE-U-SPRINGBOARD brings together 11 partners from Ukraine, Finland, and Poland to address critical issues in the field of water supply and wastewater treatment systems in Ukraine. It is designed to address key challenges in the sector by identifying, piloting, and scaling up technical, financial, and managerial solutions. A key focus of the project is building the capacity of key stakeholders — over 200 specialists will participate in a series of training programs, hackathons, and study visits.

Expected outcomes include:

• Over 100 technical, managerial and financial solutions for wastewater treatment systems of relevance to Ukraine;
• Capability Assessments of wastewater treatment enterprises in Ukraine;
• Demonstration projects — solar panels installation, local water management plans, feasibility assessments and project financing applications for wastewater treatment facilities of Zolochiv and Horodok communities;
• Study visits to wastewater treatment facilities in Poland and Finland;
• Training programs, seminars, and an online course on water supply and wastewater management;
• Urban water management portal;
• 48 online events for networking and partnership-building, as well as the creation of a Water Supply and Wastewater Alliance.
